My ultimate goal is to obtain a challenging remote medical coding and/or auditing position and turn it into a career with a reputable, innovative organization that strives to improve the health and lives of others.
I graduated in 2014 with a college diploma in Health Information Management-Medical Coding. I have been employed, actively coding/auditing, since my graduation. I have been employed with Optum since 2017 auditing physician claims in the Medicare and Retirement Fraud Waste and Abuse division. Before 2017 I was employed with a multi specialty surgeons office and a family practitioner office. I am certified through AAPC with the CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification. From 2014-2016 I coded for Lincoln Surgical Group. During this time I coded gastrointestinal, colon, anal/rectal, endocrine, vascular, and wound care procedures/diagnosis. This included the pro-fee side of surgeries as well as office visits, and off site Doppler radiology.
September of 2016 I accepted a position with Fallbrook Family Health Center. Here I perform primary care coding along with billing office duties.
