Hello , I’m Laquisha Toland. I’m a coding professional with 5 years experience. I obtained my Associates’ Degree in Health Information Technology at Atlanta Technical College in 2014.  I currently hold my RHIT (2015)  and CCS-P (2018) credentials with AHIMA. I’m currently studying for the CCS exam. I started my coding career at Piedmont Healthcare as a coder 1 in 2015 and was promoted to coder 2 in 2018. As a coder 1, I worked in physician billing in the following specialties, Primary care, Internal medicine, Hospitalist and Rheumatology E/M coding. As a coder 2 at Piedmont Healthcare, I worked in the following specialties, ENT, Palliative Care, Gastroenterology and I have assisted other coders in Neurology and Pulmonary specialties. I also coded hospital rounding encounters and minor and major surgeries. I’m currently coding Vascular and ENT surgical encounters at Emory Healthcare as a Coder 2. I am pursuing a coding position where I can bridge my physician/Outpatient coding experience to the inpatient side of coding.
