My goal is to secure a full-time position in the area of medical billing, coding, and claims administration in order to contribute my skills in ICD-10-CM and CPT code abstraction, claims management, accounts receivable, and customer service.

In my most recent role, I utilized ICD-10-CM and CPT code sets to abstract codes for a medical practice of 3 orthopedic providers, In addition, I was responsible for claims administration through several commercial payers as well as handled Workers’ Compensation claims. I also provided customer service; responding to patient concerns regarding billing issues and assist billing manager with billing claims as required.

I am experienced with coding reports such as hip and knee replacements, shoulder surgeries as well as sports medicine issues. I also have experience with hand surgery notes. In addition, I have taken a special interest in risk adjustment.

I have updated staff on changes to CMS policies as well as the MACRA program. I have on occasion educated staff on CDI as well as HIPAA regulations. I have also researched and taken supplemental webinars and classes aiding in my ability to abstract HCC codes along with proper documentation; to paint a better picture of patient health parameters regarding chronic conditions and their effects with respect to the revenue cycle.
