I am writing to you today in regards to any Medical Coder positions located remotely or in the St. Augustine/St. John’s county area .  I am a Certified Professional Coder through AAPC. I studied hard and gained an excellent understanding of the AHIMA coding guidelines as well as how to assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, and HCPCS level II. I joined the AAPC St. Augustine Local Chapter and earned my first CEU at the annual meet and greet. I am utilizing the AAPC’s Practicode program, upon completion, the apprenticeship requirements will be fulfilled. I check the AAPC website regularly for updates and notices on new codes and billing procedures including how to handle coronavirus cases. I have noticed throughout my remote coder job research that encoder is often used.  I did my own research on the encoder program to ensure that I was familiar with the program to help mitigate on-the-job training. As you can see, I am eager to learn everything there is to know to become a successful professional coder and start this new career path.

I have extensive administrative support experiences as well as experience working with a collaborative team. While being the administrative assistant to guest services for Voyages to Antiquity one of my primary tasks was organizing personal information and processing account data. This required close contact with billing services as well as other branches of guest services in England through Skype. This example of strong communication skills while working tediously with extreme attention to detail is exactly what I will be able to provide.
