I am a recent graduate of YTI Career Institute, where I studied Medical Billing and Coding and maintained a 4.0 GPA.  I obtained my CPC-A certification through the online exam in December, 2020.  I am also a current member of the AAPC.  I currently work full-time at Penn State Medical Group, which is part of Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania.  I have previously worked as a billing coordinator and now work as a front office assistant.  As a billing coordinator, I would send resubmissions to the insurance companies, bill procedures, TOC, and nursing home charges.  I would also call insurance companies to check eligibility and prior authorizations.  Now, as a front office assistant, I enter payments and copays into patient accounts, update insurance information, and check eligibility.  I did take a break from this job to finish school but was able to return.  During my break, I was working remotely as a data entry clerk for a law firm through a temp service.  I would fill out proof of claim forms and call clients with follow up questions.
