I have just recently obtained my Certified Professional Coder (CPC-A) credentials and am eager to begin my career as a professional coder. Prior to my certification, I completed the Medical Coding and Billing program through Career Step.

As a newly credentialed CPC-A, my goal is to acquire any specialty certifications that would assist me in advancing within my career field. I plan to consistently continue education throughout my career, and to adapt and advance in everything that I am assigned to do.

The steps that I will take in order to accomplish my career goals include maintaining a membership through the AAPC, obtaining many specialty certifications that they offer, and utilizing their plethora of resources that will assist me in continuing my education and excelling throughout my career.

I am a military spouse of an active-duty soldier, so my job experience is scarce and spaced out, but I apply myself completely and thoroughly when I am employed. The only experience I have with medical coding is through Career Step and the AAPC, but I am confident that I retain the knowledge and adaptation skills to succeed in any medical coding position offered.
