As an RN and newly Certified Medical Coder I’m excited to apply my interest, clinical knowledge, skills, ethics and attention to detail to the challenges of medical documentation, coding and billing integrity.
I’m a medical coding professional with experience in insurance billing, ICD-10-CM Diagnosis coding, DRG assignment, ICD-10-PCS Inpatient and CPT Outpatient procedure coding. I have extensive knowledge of clinical medical terminology. I’m highly proficient in data abstraction and data entry with an eye for detail. I’m familiar with commonly used medical and standard administrative applications and encoder software including 3M-Encoder, SyTru extraction and TruCode systems. I’m also trained in HIPAA and HIM reimbursement processes, billing statements, CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms.
I have an excellent work ethic and fastidious attention to detail. My analytical and critical thinking skills are very strong. I demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. I have exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work independently while a collaborative team player.

In my training I coded over 250 outpatient reports and inpatient records. Reports coded include Consultations, Emergency Room reports, History and Physical reports, Laboratory reports, Surgical/Operative reports, Physician Orders, Procedure Notes, Progress Notes, Radiology reports, and Pathology reports.
I coded reports in the following specialties: E/M, Anesthesia, Pathology, Psychiatric, General Surgery, Radiology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Urology, ENT, Infectious Diseases, Respiratory, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, and Trauma.
I studied over 635 hours in detailed course work in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS and direct CPT coding and code set training. I am very familiar with the CMS coding guidelines and the AHA Coding Clinics.
I have extensive training in the biomedical sciences—medical terminology, advanced anatomy and physiology, advanced pathophysiology, and pharmacology.
My training also included HIPAA and HIM reimbursement processes, billing statements, CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms and MS-DRG assignment.
