I first moved to Dallas from Michigan at the very end of 2019, looking for a fresh start and a new
direction for my life. Shortly after moving, I began working first as a Sam’s Club door greeter and
later as a delivery driver for Papa John’s, short-term jobs to pay my bills while I searched for a
career path that would suit me well. Eventually, I decided to pursue a certification in Medical
Coding and Billing. As we’re all aware, the past several years have presented a unique
set of challenges and obstacles for each of us; despite that, I graduated from my medical coding
program with honors this December, and received my NHA certification a few weeks later.
I am now eager to take the next step and find a position that will begin my career as a medical
coder. I’ve spent much of my free time studying for some time now, and I am excited for the
opportunity to apply the knowledge I’ve acquired in a practical setting. That said, I also
understand that I am brand new to this field, and I’m sure that even though I’ve completed my
formal education, there are many lessons I still have yet to learn. I am looking for an opportunity
to learn and to grow just as much as I’m looking for an opportunity to work. I’m a dedicated
employee, a fast learner, and while my previous experience is not directly relevant, it has taught
me the value of teamwork, communication, and a proactive approach to completing tasks. I
believe that I can be an asset to any team, and I am searching for the opportunity to
demonstrate that.
