We are looking for a Hospital Coding Supervisor for a remote temp-to-perm opportunity. This Coding Supervisor will supervise a team of 10 – 15 Inpatient and Outpatient coders. This coding supervisor must have recent or current experience as a lead coder or coding supervisor. This coding supervisor will be responsible for:
- coding and compliance management
- auditing, mentoring, and educating inpatient and outpatient coders
- coding as needed to address back-log or cover for coder PTO, LOA, and open coder positions
- collaborating with coding and HIM managers on strategic project, ongoing coding improvements, accuracy and DNFB
Requirements:
- Expert hospital Inpatient and Outpatient coding skills and knowledge
- Experience supervising inpatient and outpatient coders
- 3+ years of production coding experience plus 1 year as a lead coder or supervisor
- CCS required; other credentials (RHIT or RHIA) will be considered
- CPC or CCS-P helpful, but not required
- Experience coding, auditing and supervising in a level one trauma and teaching hospital required
