PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Medical Coder, Team fEMR, Dec. 2021 – Current

·       Part of a team of volunteer coders that assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to the medical records from a refugee camp on the US-Mexico border.

·       Many of the medical records are in Spanish and need to be translated before being coded.

·       Team fEMR and their partners use the coded data for research on the prevalence of Covid-19 and other conditions and will continue to be used for broader analyses.
